Satoshi Kamiyama – Chief Scientific Officer

Prof. Satoshi Kamiyama received the Ph. D. degree in 1995 from Nagoya University. From 1985 to 1988, he was a member of technical staff at Central Research Laboratory, Omron Co. Kyoto, Japan, participating in the development of semiconductor AlGaAs-based opto-electronic devices. From 1988 to 1999, he joined Central Research Laboratory of Panasonic Co. Osaka, Japan, where he was pursuing research in the field of semiconductor lasers including red, green and blue-violet lasers. Since 1999, he has been a member of technical staff in Meijo University in Nagoya, Japan, where he conducted research of group-III nitride materials and devices in the group of Prof. Akasaki. He became an associate professor at Meijo University in 2001, and was promoted to professor in 2007. His experience covers all the semiconductor opto-electronic devices, such as bulk crystal growth, epitaxial growth (LPE, MBE, and MOCVD), de-vice processing, device physics, and theory. Prof. Kamiyama is a member of the IEEE, SPIE and the Japan Society of Applied Physics.

Koichi Naniwae – Chief Technical Officer

Koichi Naniwae received his B.E., M.E. and Ph.D. degrees from Nagoya University, in 1988, 1990, and 2004, respectively, all in electrical and electronic engineering. From 1998 until 1999, he was a visiting researcher at North Carolina State University, USA. In 1990, he joined NEC Corporation as researcher and conducted research and production development in compound semiconductor growth technologies, such as Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) and Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) of InP related materials for optical communication devices, MBE of ZnSe related materials for blue-green laser diodes, and MOCVD of GaN related materials for blue-violet laser diodes and green laser diodes, during 20 years. After the merger of NEC electronics and Renesas Technology in 2010 he served as leader of the development of the high power blue-violet GaN laser diodes for the optical disk recording applications. Dr. Naniwae joined EL-Seed in April 2011, as Chief Technical Officer with the all over responsibility for product and production development. He is a member of Japan Society of Applied Physics. Dr. Naniwae is a Japanese national and speaks Japanese and English.
